Mechanics and other problems

Hi to all!

Has anyone of you ever tried to solve non-fluid-dynamic-problems with openFOAM?
Maybe mechanical problems like: Calculating stresses or displacements in constructional elements?!

First of all I just want to know if it's possible.

Please tell me about your experiences!!!

i tried but i dont find a solution. thats very difficult.

That doesn't sound good...
What kind of mechanics problems have you tried to solve?
What about these "Stress analysis of solids"-solver?
Aren't they made to compute deformations etc?
