(1). Looks like that the picture is consistent with the global economy. The Asian market is relatively cool and the European market is relatively warm. This is because Asian economy is linked directly to the Japan's economy. (2). The other difference is that, the requirement for CFD in aerospace was mainly a function of the contract need. In all cases, the CFD approach was required for the aerospace contract award. (3).On the other hand, automobile is a consumer product . The production cost is usually the main concern. When larger sports vehicles are popular, the bigger the better. Untill the next round of oil crisis, improvement in aerodynamic efficiency and fuel economy is not going to be the high priority issues. (4). The safety issue and the vehicle structure design are currently more attractive to the consumers. Asking companies to do CFD is just like asking companies in the third world developing countries to invest in the research....not a very practical proposal.
