Best two phase commercial code
Greetings!
So what program is suited for simulations involving two fluids of high density differences (ie air and water) where the free surface is (all) important? |
Re: Best two phase commercial code
FLOW 3D is the specialists first choice for free surface simulations

Don't know what "he he" implies.
I've not done two-phase problems, but flow3d is structured in such a way that the two-fluid application is a natural extension to a free surface simulation. I have used Flow3d for several free surface problems over the years. The VOF algorithm is well-implemented (C. W. Hirt, the president of Flow Science, invented the original VOF). I've used SOLA-VOF, the first VOF code developed at Los Alamos, extensively. That is, I've done several free surface problems with satisfactory results. If you'll look at www.flow3d.com, you'll see the description of a substantial inhancement to the VOF algorithm. |
