Modelling free surfaces using no slip wall, and other general queries

Im currently doing a cfd course at uni, but the course notes are very vague and I cant find the info I am looking for in any text books.

Ive been asked the following questions:

Q1) A free-surface may be represented using a no-slip wall, a symmetry boundary condition, or using a dynamic free surface model (e.g. VoF or levelset).

Explain which you would select.

Q2) An impeller may be modelled using either an actuator disk or a moving mesh. State the advantages and disadvantages of each approach and the
circumstances under which each choice would be appropriate.

I would appreciate any help you guys could give me as i dont even no where to begin.

Cheers.

theory

hey, you might start by referring to the user guide and/or theory manual of whichever CFD software available at your place. If it isnt try reading them from documentation of Fluent on internet .. must be helpful

look for the topics mentioned in your questions and you will be able to answer them if you understand the concepts.
