Gamma differencing vs Venkatakrishnan limiter

Dear Friends,

I was working on high resolution schemes for a unified flow solver on unstructured meshes and came across the paper by Jasak et.al. that introduces the Gamma differencing scheme for unstructured meshes. Gamma differenicing, essentially blends upwind and central schemes and is based on Leonard's NVD concept, and is similar to making use of a limiter. Jasak's paper compares the Gamma scheme with SUPERBEE and vanLeer limiters. Considering that Venkatakrishnan limiter is the one that is popular among the compressible CFD community at large, are there any comparisons of how a linear upwind scheme with Venkatakrishnan limiter compares with a Gamma differencing scheme ?

All comments/suggestions in this regard are appreciated

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Ganesh
