Research

I'm currently doing a bit of research on CFD and its industrial application. I would like to write a paper about the new opportunities for CFD within the industry. If anyone has ideas about new industries that could be interested by the recent developement of CFD, please have a bit of a chat with me or drop me a mail

Thanks Fred

Re: Research

Hi there.I think the medical industry would be interested in CFD, especially in modeling blood flow in humans. One example could be to simulate the heart pumping action etc. I know a professor in my university who used CFD for this analysis. Hope that helps. Cheers

Re: Research

there`s still a plenty of challenges, just by chance what comes to my mind: variable geometry turbochargers, air-brake system of truck+trailer combination or train (transient analysis what`s happening during braking and un-braking and filling the system), pressure-wave exchangers, a whole bunch of application in chemical engineering - modelling processes like fluidization (event. +evaporation); water-jet machining; very viscous fluids flow....

Re: Research

The best way to find what u're searching for is to visit web sites of CFD's softwares, like fluent, StarCd or CFX, u'll find a lot of interessent recent industrial applications. In my point of view, today, the majority of industries use CFD, the difference is the complexity of problems to resolve by using it, like moving hybrid meshes, flows with moving or deformable boundaries in complex geometries (biomechanical application for exemple), Interactions between disciplines....

Good Luck
