We are looking for a person to perform some CFD (Computation Fluid Dynamics) of some geometries for a product. We are looking for someone to perform about two man weeks of work starting as soon as possible. This person should be able to competently and efficiently do the following: •Import existing geometry and model new geometries from scratch in CFD software •Mesh and debug meshing for complex geometries •Apply boundary conditions and run full CFD analysis •Estimate the viability of CFD results and understand the model convergence criteria •Understand, interpret and communicate results of the CFD analysis form a fluid mechanics and thermodynamics standpoint •Provide visual representations of the analysis results as necessary •Experience with the CFX brand of CFD software is a plus

The person should have the following minimum qualifications: •B.S. in mechanical, chemical or other engineering degree. •At least three years experience in running CFD models. CFX software experience is preferred.

Fantastic. A whole two weeks work. Wait while I resign my job in order to take you up on this wonderful opportunity.

You should contract this out to a reputable consultancy company instead of doing it on the cheap.

If you think that *anyone* will be able to give you anything in two weeks, starting from scratch, then you will be sorely dissapointed.

So, what is superior-sdc offering? And what kind of CFD problem can be solved in 2 weeks (starting from scratch) including analysis, presentation AND requires 3 years of workexperience in CFD?

You'll not get a lot of answers from your posts here.

superior etc is a staffing firm (check the web site). Heaven only knows what company actually wants the work done.

Still, for the right person, it might make a nice income pick-me-up for the holidays.

Interesting question.

I just assumed that CFX was specified because the company needing the work had a license for that particular code. Maybe not a good assumption ...

Back when I took the CFX training in Pittsburgh (maybe 15 years ago?), you could 'buy' one day of time, including an analyst from the local staff and a dedicated work station, for $1500. Wonder if they still have the service - and at what cost?
