SIMPLE or density-based?
 

Hello, I have a problem with the code I am writing.It is about compressible flow (Mach~0.3).I have read many papers about Simple and how it works,but none about density-based algorithms.I do not know even the exactly equations that are used (except the continuity and the ideal gas law) and about convergenge techiques. If anyone can help me or send me a fortran subroutine which deals with density-based algorithm. Thank you in advance

Visit the above Homepage of Eli Turkel, you will get lot of references on Low Mach number preconditioning. As I have experience of writing 2 CFD codes from scratch (1-with Jameson scheme Cylindrical Coordiantes system and Second with Wiess and Smith Preconditioned Cartisian Coordiantes), I would prefer to write a precondtioned code from scratch.

Do a google search for : "preconidtioning" + "all speed" + "navier-stokes". You will get a lot of refrences.

Also I have send a paper to you. It is about 2D preconidtioned equations for aerodynamics. Also visit www.crs4.it for their internal reports.

hi george, Check out Artificial Compressiblity Algorithm, its a density based algorithm but for incompressible flow. Check out chorin's paper.
