check: www.openfoam.org c++ based
sourceforge.net/projects/duns fortran77 based these are finite-volume, there are a few more in the FE world. |

Greetings.. From: Rohith Menon, Student,MTech Aeronautical, M.V.J.C.E, Bangalore-67, India. Subject: Problems faced during my project(still going on)
Dear Sir, Details of Project: Title: "Prediction and Expiremental verification of pressure losses in an annular combustion chamber". My plan is to have a 2D analysis using cartitian grid throughout. The curvatures will be dealt as steps in grid. grid of constant size 1mm x 1mm. Since there is a difference in the sections(bacause of the prescence of swirler in the dome), on to longitudinal sections it will be calculated. Area averaging of the solutions got using the two grids. Problems: 1)How to apply boundary conditions. 2)A method was explained by CAJ Fletcher, assuming the flow as parabolic PDE(since there is propagation, dissipation and viscous medium), for calculating the velocity fields.Is that true for applying in combustion chambers. The coding is planned to do in C/C++. Quieries: Is there any other methods for calculating this? Please consider my quieries expecting a reply at the earliest yours truly,Rohith |
