Fundamental doubt about CFD and Aeroelasticity

Hi,
I am new to field of CFD and newer to Aeroelasticity.
What I had found that many commercial codes use simpler methods like Lattice and Panel methods for calculation of Aerodynamic loads (for further aeroelastic analysis).

From my understanding CFD is a higher fidelity methods which can give more accurate and consistent aerodynamic loads.

I have only this question regarding this -
Is CFD being used for Aeroelastic analysis, yes/no and why ?

Come on, someone please help me with this.

CFD gives very good results if measured values are available.
In other words, in many cases CFD is no more than a fancy interpolation scheme.

I know CFD has many shortcomings :(, but please show some respect to CFD in cfd-online.com.

But you didn't answer my questions about CFD being used for Aeroeleastic loads calculations.

Yes, CFD is used in aeroelasticity, bot full NS types of spatial simulations, faster linearized methods and methods in the frequency domain.

LOL @ demanding respect for an engineering concept! I'm sure CFD-online can cope with criticism of CFD as well as praise where it is due.

Lysistrata and cfd_newbie, we have no problem with people who are honest and also inform people about what CFD can not be trusted with. There are too many CFD engineers who trust their CFD results too much. CFD is an art that requires a competent user do judge the quality of the results.
