Postprocessor Spectral Elements
 

Does there exist a postprocessor for spectral elements?

Those are elements with Lagrange shape functions based on the Gauss-Legendre-Labatto points.

I know there used to be a spectral code Nek(ton), which had a post processor called PostNek. I haven't found any website that still is online. www.nek.com is dead.

Any suggestions?

I don't know of any post-processor for spectral elements, some of the researchers that use them might have their own.

But usually you have two choices. Firstly you can just use the capability in normal postprocessors. This means you output your point distribution solution and let the postprocessor fit a mesh to it. I know both Tecplot and Opendx can do that although it takes a lot of time for big number of points. Another option you can write a simple subroutine that fits a number of elements into the higher order element. For example an order 3 tet with 20 points can be fit 20 tets inside it. This is what I use and this can be done very quickly, in some postprocessors you don't even have to worry about getting the global connectivity right.
