Hi all,

I have heard that the arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) formulation provides only first order TIME accuracy for moving boundary problems without precribed motion (i.e., under fluid-structure interaction). Is that true?

Thanks!

If your time discretisation is such that it satifies the discrete GCL this is not true. For mathematical proof of this see papers by Farhat.
