Hi all,
I have heard that the arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) formulation provides only first order TIME accuracy for moving boundary problems without precribed motion (i.e., under fluid-structure interaction). Is that true? Thanks! |

If your time discretisation is such that it satifies the discrete GCL this is not true. For mathematical proof of this see papers by Farhat.
