Hi all,
I am looking for some info(papers/weblinks) on finite difference or finite volume schemes (preferably higher order) for Stream-function vorticity formulation in 2-D generalised curvilinear coordinates. Thanks in advance, Abhijit. |

dear Abhijit i used generalized coordinates to steady the flow over any two dimensional body ,or inside any two dimensional enclouser. any result or source code using fortran 90 will be avialable after discussion of my thesis after few days, before that what is the main problem with you. thanks khairy-Egypt

hello khairy,
thanks for your response. I want to know if you used finite-volume method or finite difference method ? What scheme (first order upwind/or higher order upwind schemes)you used? what books/journal papers you used to write your code? I will be writing my own code. I have'nt come across any major references using finite-volume method for stream-function vorticity formulation. Most books I describe first order upwind scheme for vorticity transport equation. I am looking for something better. Thanks Abhijit tilak. |

Hello Abhijit i used finite difference method ,the main reference are "Al-Bahi, A., M., and Abdelrahman, M.M. ,(1993). "Numerical Solution of The Unsteady Incompressible Navier-stokes Equation in Generalized Non-Orthogonal Curvilinear Co-ordinates", fifth ASAT Conference, Cairo.", "Hoffmann, K., and Chiang, S.(1995)"Computational fluid Dynamics for Engineers", engineering Education System, Wichita, USA."(first volume) i use second order upwind scheme using image point(i derive the vorticity at the wall by myself with the assistance of my advisor) i have three version of my code 1-uniform grid,2-stretched grid,3-generalized can i give you an advice from my little experience in CFD "use finite volume-primitive variables "if you intended to write the code use the following two books 1-An introudiction to computional fluid dynamics the finite volume method,by Versteeg and Malalasekera1995 2- computional methods for fluid dynamics,by Peric(the used codes are avialable via (ftp://ftp.springer.de/pub/technik/peric)1999
