Good day.

I've just completed my undergraduate degree, and I've strated working in industry. I would like to know what do I need to become a CFD specialist?

Thank You

A good bet is a Master's degree with a CFD thesis.

A Masters degree would be a good bet.

I hear that the new MSc by Research in Computational Fluid Dynamics offered by Cranfield University may be just the ticket (www.cranfield.ac.uk or p.a.rubini@cranfield.ac.uk for more).

Cranfield would be a great place to study - but getting funding is a pain in the butt

The taught MSc. titled "Theoretical and Applied Fluid Dynamics" offered by the University of Manchester gives an excellent balance between the necessary theoretical foundations and the applied aspects. I am currently a student in that Msc. programme, and have had a very good experience (upto now at least). There are two modules on CFD, the first is mostly numerical analysis emphasizing the finite difference method, with a lot of code writing. The second is about the finite volume method. In addition, you can do your research project on (almost) any aspect of CFD. Check their website for more detailed info. http://www.manchester.ac.uk/degreepr...aught/1131.htm

Although I don't know about going only into CFD...it is pretty much a tool like anything else in the engineering arsenal.
