KIVA mesh

Hello everybody, I have a doubt regarding KIVA meshing. I have been trying to use full cylindrical mesh but when I run the K3prep file it gives me warning message saying as following

KIVA-3 ---- Copyright 1990 by the Regents of the University of California K3PREP/99.12 fuel spray impingement

thsect= 360.0000 iprep error: resetting facef, faced fluid after all blocks created: ncells= 566 nverts= 594 after connectivity, packing: ifirst= 29 ncells= 566 nverts= 594 WARNING: 480 non-convex cells. see otape11. *** WARNING: 500 cell inversion(s). see otape11. *** grid generation complete. writing otape17 ... making plots . . . Execution time= 0.0 s (= 0.00 m) Press any key to continue

I dont understand what the problem is as I guess I have set all the input data properly. Can anyone help me with this problem. Thanks in advance.

Re: KIVA mesh

The grid generation with k3prep is pretty tricky. It took me mounths to create an engine mesh that works, and I had to do several approximations. It takes patience. Maybe the best way is to start from a mesh in the examples (ex.vv, ex.bowl...), and make it fit to your dimensions. You should search in the k3prep code the meaning of the message. In this case, when you use a 360 geometry with axis (polar coordinates), you should set the front and derrier boundary to fluid. You didn't do it so k3prep provided. For what concernes the cell inversions, this are cells with negative volume. The coordinates of such cells are written to otape11. It would be helpful to visualise this cells, so you could find out where the problem is and provide to fix it.
