Writing Blockstructed - HexMesher: Create O-Grid.

Hy Guys.

I´m working in my free time on a blockstructed hex-mesher, like the Icem-Block mesher.

I know a little bit of hex-meshing, and thought that it should be possible to write a interactive hex-mesher (I´m leaving apart the geo-handling - proyection. I know from others could do that job), and now I am doing this as a hobby. It started some weeks ago, as a general idea, and now it´s becoming a real form.

In this first release, transfinite interpolation (TFI) will be used. Maybe with edge length weight. A wrote a standard TFI interpolant, and it works well. Edge link, and so on although works. The big rest is to handle the block-data structure.

OK.

The QUESTION is: How would you define the points of an O-Grid?????

To make it easier, think about a block with corner vertexes P0, ..., P7. I want to create a O-Grid with FACES on the face P0, P1, P2, P3 and the face P4, P5, P6, P7. (opposite faces)

How are the 8 O-Grid points defined? I´ve got some ideas, but I don´t know exactly what Icem does, or how Icem calculate the O-Grid vertexes.

Any idea?

Thanks,
Zampa.
