Default Physical meaning of Y+?

Hi all, I try to figure out what's the physical meaning of Y+ from many explanation. But I still cannot get it! Can somebody explain for me, thanks!

Y+ is a non--dimensional parameter, based on which different regions near a wall boundary are divided. For example, a location of y+ = 5 will lie in the viscous region independent of the flow parameters (fluid, velocity, length of domain, etc.)

Hi agg, thanks, Do you mean the Y+ is only an index to determine whether it is located inside the boundary layer or not? Then what's the Y+ range for boundary layer? thanks.
