Creating Blocks by Extrusion in Gridgen

Hi

I created domains at z=constant. Can anyone advise me on how to extrude these domains in z direction until a defined database surface to create blocks?

Hello Newbie:

Thanks for your question about Gridgen. As for extrusion, it sounds like you're asking it to do something it can't do. Extrusion methods are an initial value problem where you can control only the initial boundary shape not the shape of the final front.

What may work for you is projection. Select the z-constant domain you created, copy it, and project it using the Linear method in the z-direction. You'll then have two domains - the original and its copy on the database. Of course, you don't have a block yet so you just connect the four opposite corners with connectors and then assemble the block in the normal way.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for the answer. I was trying to search for short cut to create blocks in Gridgen but unfortunately it seems that there is no short cut.
