turbulence textbook.

i am new to cfd and turbulence and was planning on buying "Turbulence: An Introduction for Scientists and Engineers" by P.A. Davidson". i was looking for reviews from someone who has read this book.

Re: turbulence textbook.

that is an excellent book, which covers quite a wide range of things. its some 600++ pages long, so its quite a read but i do recommend it. also try some less lengthy chapter in books, something like "An Introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics, The Finite Volume Method" by Versteeg and Malalasekera, there is a chapter on turbulence there, which is not too long, but is a good first read.

dear sir i do not read this book, but from my experience in CFd and Turbulence i think "Turbulence modeling for CFD"by Wilcox ,DCW Industries ,is the most efficent book for Turbulence modeling, but u must read other books and papers to know more about turbulence khairy-Egypt

For a first read, try numerous faculty pages by doing a google. Then jump right into the book by Pope. Wilcox is also good.
