gas flow and heat transfer in porous media
 

Process:In a fixed-bed with only one port,gas flows in and reacts with the packed media,then reaction heat is released though the boundry. Question 1:Is Darcy's law proper to represent the flow(given that no steady flow with inlet and outlet exists)? Question 2:If the answer to question 1 is positive,or similar expression is adopted,whether the algorithm I proposed will do:first assume the gas velocity,then solve the governing equations for solid-phase temperature,gas-phase density and gas-phase temperature repectively,thereafter use gas state equation to obtain the gas pressure,finally renew the velocity by Darcy's law to complete one step of iteration.Is there anything special to pay attention to?
