Create hemisphere like velocity profile at inlet

Hi Everyone,

I am wandering how to create a parabolic velocity profile at the inlet for a circular pipe flow problem in "3D" in Fluent. I have tried to write a User Define Function (UDF) code for that, but it wasn't successful, which only gave me one parabolic profile when look in side way and uniform straight velocity profile when look from the top.

What I actually want is a hemisphere like shape velocity profile at the inlet. In fluid dynamic terms, fully developed flow at the inlet!

Besides, is that any website that let people download UDF code to solve common problem like this one here?

Thank you very much in advance for reading or answering!

Nelson

Re: Create hemisphere like velocity profile at inl

Hi Nelson, you should be able to find what your're looking for under the Fluent forum. Search "Debugging a 3d parabolic profile". The code posted there should do the trick. Just make sure to compile it instead of interpret it as this was the source of my troubles.

Best Regards, David
