Electonics equipment design - PCB board and Heat sink

Dear friends,

I have one of the project, which is related to electronics equipment design. In this we want to know the thermal mapping of the complete system with many small components using CFD tool. Can any one suggest me which CFD tool is good to analyze the thermal analysis for this type of problems.

In CFX can we do? If so can you help me the approah how we can proceed.

can you do it using CFX? the answer is yes
How long will it take? may be a month more or less, you need to construct a model with all their components included etc......
Look for specialized software, icepak, coolit, tak2000,etc......

And of course FloTHERM, still the most popular application specific CFD tool for electronics cooling!

Icepak is an effective tool to simulate the electronic devices. And the time required for modeling depends on the expertise you have on the software. with appropreate boundary conditions and the case setup, the accuracy in the results could be as high as 99% ( dependant on the complexity).
Any way for modeling, we can take help from ansys workbench (Icepak supported), with the help of which, we can simplify the components, instead of modeling each and every component individually.
