CFD job

Hello everybody. I'm a young aerospace engineer from Italy, and I'm studing in order to get a master degree. I have many interests in Fluid Dynamics, Aerodynamics and CFD. But I have seen that in this field there are few opportunities of job: all the industries search for CAD, FEA and structural design. Anyway I'd like to work also in other sectors of engineering, not just in the aerospace one.
Can you explain me what are the opportunities of job for a CFD engineer? Are they restricted only for Academia? If I want to work as a CFD engineer do you think that I have to leave my country?
Thank you for your answers, and sorry for my bad English!!! :D
Bye!:)

Ciao Dario.

While is true that by raw numbers FEA analysts are more in demand i would not say that there are not cfd jobs in Italy. AFAIK there are quite a lot of opportunities at fiat, Ferrari is always in need due to the high turnover, a friend of mine have just signed with pirelli, there are quite some openings at the ansys italian dealer and in a consultancy firm in genova, plus many more in the architecture field. not to mention la Nuovo Pignone, ENEL, saipem, etc... while i must admit i don't know about openings in the aerospace sector (but might be just due to the fact that i'm not interested in it) i won't call it a just-academia field. :D

So keep studing what you like, do an erasmus to improve your English (absolutely everything is in english in cfd, plus some german) and be marry.

un saluto.
