Compressible Channel flow - driving force

Dear all,
I'm looking into DNS of compressible channel flows. The way this problem is usually set up (at least in the incompressible case) is by computing a periodic duct (in streamwise direction) with a pressure gradient (volume force) to account for skin friction losses.

I'm wondering how this is done for the compressible case...the same approach? Is there than a term in the energy equation as well??

If anybody has any knowledge or good references, please let me know!

Thanks a lot!
