Typical runtime for simulation with mesh movement?
hi,
I've read quite a few papers which simulate wings of insect (3d) or airfoil (2d) flapping. The Re should be 10^3 - 10^4. Does anyone knows what's the typical run time for 1 or 2 cycles, assuming using the university's super computing facilities? Does it need to take months? thanks alot! |
Re: Typical runtime for simulation with mesh movem
Hi,
It depends not only on the facilties but also on the procedure that you would be using to compute the unsteady aerodynamics. I am not sure about the 3D case but i am able to get solutions for typical 2D problems in a time of 1-2 hrs. Suriya |
