Read in literature about using harmonic extension in moving domain CFD, which the fluid displacement is the harmonic extension of the solid displacement at the FSI boundary.

What is harmonic extension? I know it is to do with harmonic function. But what physical meaning it has that the fluid is harmonic extension of solid displacement? conservation of something?

Thanks!
