Mesh2d is upgrading to surface/3D triangulation.
Hi everyone, Mesh2d is an efficient and powerful 2D unstructured mesh generator i developped years ago. These days i'm thinking to upgrade mesh2d to surface and 3D mesh generation cases. Now there are some simple surface mesh examples <a http://www.mema.ucl.ac.be/~wu>here </a>for fun only. Check it out and you are welcome to send any suggestions and comments. Thanks.

Re: Mesh2d is upgrading to surface/3D triangulatio
Hi Liang Wu!! The link is really good. I wonder if you can provide me some advise on the mesh refinement. I want to refine mess in some particular areas in the domain and keep other areas coarser at some point of time. As the solution advance in time, the requirement of mesh refinement changes to certain another location in the domain making the previous one coarser.Would you please suggest some thing. I have written this code on cartesian cordinates with stuctured grid for solution of 3d NS equations. Thank in advance, Jas

Re: Mesh2d is upgrading to surface/3D triangulatio
Hi, jas, as for your grid-adaptive question, there are many papers addressing this issue. One simple strategy is refining your mesh by additional criteria as a function of some physical properties, such as velocity/temperature gradient mack number etc... If your code is generic enough, it's very easy to adapt to any kind of such new criteria. You may find some papers from Steve Owen's mesh generation roundtable site about this issue. However, for mesh corasing i never think about this problem before frankly speaking, i do believe it can achieved by the similar strategy as grid-adaptive refinement. Hope it helps.

i have something interesting for you in my mind, i have been thinking of doing it myself, but oyu seems to be better person to do it. please drop me an email on zxaar@yahoo.com , i wish we can have a discussion on this issue.
