timestep calculation
 
dear frns i am doing a cfd analysis for vaneless diffuser in unsteady flow. i want to know in that how we will claculate the timestep, what should be the maximum timestep.

inlet diameter =180mm
oulet dia.=550mm
rpm=1800

any help will be appriciated,

timestep=Min Length/speed. Min Length is the minimum length of your mesh(sigle mesh)!

if you use specific soft such as fluent you can find it while you use checkmesh. else you wrote a code, add a function to caclulate min area of each cell( it is easy in all language)
