Hi,

I have recently applied Peric's codes to calculate the flow field of a thin channel. The boundary conditions are as follows: 1) west side is an inflow 2) east side is an impermeable wall 3) south side is symmetric plane 4) north side is a porous wall. for the condition 4) the U-velocity is calculated from no-slip condition and V -velocity at the porous wall is calculated from total mass conservation. The solution is calculated from colocated grid.

The SIMPLE scheme does not give me converged solution despite i have changed the under-relaxation factors. Does and of you have any suggestions how i can improve this? Your feedbacks are much appreciated.

thanks! newcomer_ to_ CFD

Hello! For the problem that you have, are you sure that the code calculates the total mass conservation also in the V direction and not only in the U direction. I had a similar problem and only the U velocity was corrected at the outlet (in order to ensure the mass conservation). You should know that these codes are only for incompressible fluid flow. Hope I helped a little bit.
