How to calculate the computational resource requirement?

Hello,

I have a model with 10 million cells, if the solution takes 3000 iterations to converge, how do I estimate the computational resource requirement (number of cores, memory RAM) so that I get the solution in n hours (say 12)?

Thanks

Kind Regards

A typical segreggated solver usually takes about 0.6 - 0.8 GB per million cells. So max you would need is 10GB to run this case.

Which solver are you going to use.

Thanks Arjun, I plan to use Numeca or Fluent.

Till with fluent 6.3 what i wrote was valid. I have not used recent versions of Fluent but it will not be much off.

Good luck.
