visualization freeware

hi guys, can you recommend a free visualization software for WinNT? available on the web, simple thought easy-to-operate, making nice pictures, able to read structured data... I've went through may be 100 pages, many of them are out-of-date, on many of them you cann't download anything, many of the codes are primarily for unix, etc etc. have hardly found two somehow suitable codes: SeLaVi - a bit clumsy manipulation and occassionally returns error message for which I cann't find the reason and the authors' emails don't work.

I don't run any special or large sized cases, 1D/2D euler eq., up to approx. 10,000 cells

thanks

Visit is very good and free http://www.llnl.gov/visit/executables.html

Also try MayaVi http://mayavi.sourceforge.net

Check out the links here:

ParaView and MayaVi are nice. OpenDX is powerful but a bit of tough to get started with.

Paraview would be my choice!

http://www.paraview.org

It is a visualization tool, very easy to learn, based on VTK with support for several file formats, including Ensight (MayaVi is also based in VTK).

I´ve provided some Fortran routines in order to export data in Ensight's format in the following link:
