Default High Reynolds Free Surface Flows

Hi Dear Friends,

Nowadays, I am working in the numerical simulation of High Reynolds Free Surface Flows. My code is in 3D finite diference primitive variables. My question is this: In order to validate my computer code, there is some analytical solution for this class of fluid flow?

If you can't find an anlytical solution why not consider making one up and using the method of manufactured solutions to verify your code ?

You can find an analytic solution using perturbation methods. Refer to Van Dyke's "Perturbation Methods in Fluid Dynamics."

You can measure the period and height of the surface oscillations after a drop in a pool. The height and time of the apex is known.
