.nas file for surface or volume meshes
 

Dear all,

Someone know if the ".nas" (NASTRAN) file is format file for
- only surface meshes
- only volume meshes
- both but with some conditions ?

nastran files can have description of surface mesh, volume mesh or both.
standard tria, quad, tetra, prism and hexa elements are supported, no pyramids.

As already mentioned by Vangelis, Nastran can support both 2D or 3D meshes.

Could you specify your use case ? (softwares used)
