Optimal ratio for O-grid in cylindrical pipe

Hello,

I have a pretty straightforward question:

I have to simulate flow inside a simple cylindrical pipe with block-structured grids. I have used a standard O-Grid, and I was wondering if there is an optimal ratio between the size of the central block and the radial size of the external blocks (I mean, from the point of view of the shape of the resulting cells, and their deformation).

Right now I am using a mesh with roughly the same size for both parameters and it works well, but maybe there is a better option.

Hello,
this one shouldn't be too bad as a rough guidance, as far as I know there is no "perfect" ratio. Are you able to check for cell quality like skewness and expansion ratio with your code? You may want to apply some smoothing, that would greatly increase the mesh quality.
