Gmsh: Preparing mesh for use in COMSOL

Hi,

at my university I use COMSOL for biomedical FEM simulations. The problem is that COMSOL uses it's own heuristic algorithm to divide surface of every imported model coming from 3D scanner or medical image segmentation. That results in terrible face division (elements are too big, merged and irregular) and it's impossible to set boundary conditions precisely. After long research I found out that Gmsh can help by preparing mesh and exporting it in BDF format. So I started experimenting but never achieved desired result.

To clarify - what I want to do is:
1) Start from model obtained by 3D scan (stl)
2) set surface triangle mesh properly
3) save it in bdf format (or another one that contains information about surface divison and is accepted by COMSOL)
4) import model to COMSOL and be able to apply boundary conditions the way it should be

Here's an image showing desired final effect in COMSOL:

Is it possible to do such a preparation (for COMSOL import) in Gmsh ?

Thanks in advance for your help
