CHT Simulation, Eccentric annular gap

2 Attachment(s)
Hey guys,

I'm relatively new to CFD. I'm working on a 3D CHT-Simulation in Ansys Fluent and having problems to generate an appropriate mesh in ANSYS Meshing.

I have two hdpe-pipes, soil and water as a fluid. The inner face is where heat flux is applied and the temperature distribution in the surrounding soil and of course in the water should be calculated. High Skewness elements in the fluid zone are the problem in the small gap. I have a swept mesh and used edge sizing to generate a uniform mesh over the different layers and also to generate a boundary layer, because normal inflation isn't possible.

Any ideas how to get the elements less skew and maybe orthogonal?

Kind Regards,

Felix
