Looking for an advanced .stl generator for CFD/simulation purposes

Hello all,
I am currently trying to build a mesh from an .stl file which was exported from Autodesk inventor. Autodesk Inventor's stl generation capabilities seem limited in handling geometries that require different levels of stl resolution. (example being: I have a 100mm x 100 mm x 100 mm cube that suddenly drops off to a 100 mm x 100 mm x 0.1 mm section). In this example, I can get good quality stl triangles, but only if I specify an edge length of 0.1 mm...which would cause 0.1 mm triangles throughout the entire domain. This then limits my mesh resolution to 0.1 mm throughout the entire domain on the surfaces due to certain limitations in the meshing workflow that I am using. I would like something that recognizes the geometry or my desired aspect ratio, creates small triangles in the 0.1 mm, then gradually transitions to much larger triangles in the 100 x 100 x 100 section. Is there a software out there that can do such a thing? My only option right now is to use Autodesk Inventor > create stl > fix stl in Autodesk Mesh Mixer Thanks, db |

Hi,
I have a stl file and want to know about the elements'/edges' sizes. Is there any software that can display this information as a report? Thanks. |
