I have recently become very interested in the generation of structured 3D grids for solving external aerodynamics problems. I am also interested in structured 2D grid generation and structured grid generation on 3D surfaces.


My references on this topic are very limited at the moment. What book best covers the algorithmic and mathematical details of structured mesh generation?


I have seen "Numerical Grid Generation" by Thompson et al. mentioned in a few places, but I can't find a table of contents anywhere. The copy distributed on the MS State HPC site doesn't seem to exist anymore, so I will probably just pick up a used copy on Amazon if this is a clear winner.


Is the Thompson book what I am looking for or are there better/newer references out there?
