Numeca-Ansys Coupling

Hello all,

I am trying to map the cfd results onto structural mesh. I use NUMECA and Ansys. There is an interface in NUMECA to do the mapping. I know that the process requires an input file which is written by ansys with the .cdb extension. It is possible to do it with the cdwrite command in ansys. My problem is picking the format of the file. I have tried to write the file with the following commands:
cdwrite,comb,...
cdwrite,cm,....

for the cdwrite, comb command the error message says "THE NUMBER OF NODES MUST BE POSITIVE IN LINE EN R5.5 ATTR -1"

for the other one it says that the file is not in the proper format.

Please help me to solve this problem.

Thank you for reading the whole message!

Kind regards,

Bekir

Hello Bekir

Have you check the direction of the grid? Maybe the you need to make sure the grid in right-handed system.

Hope it helps you out.

Regards,

John

Hello John,

Thanks for your reply. I dont think that there is a problem with the direction of the grid. Because I have done the mapping for the same geometry in ANSYS. I mean I have exported the pressure distribution from Numeca and map them on the FE mesh via ANSYS.

I guess the problem is with the version of the ANSYS. Numeca told us that they do not support the ansys coupling since the ANSYS 8.0 but it is going to be ok if we use ansys up to 12th version. Now I am using version 11 but still not working. It is really annoying

Thanks for your comment again.

Regards,

Bekir

Nothing so far. We have contacted Numeca again. We are waiting for a news. Also we are thinking about using MPCCI software.

I will write here if I can get a solid information about the solution. ;)

Hello Bekir
Have you used mpcci? I have a problem, using mpcci to call numeca's parallel program will go wrong. Do you know the solution?
