Hello together,

the Numeca solver of my computation (flow of a rotor blade) always stops and I get the message:
! This type of profile x is not yet implemented in the initial solution for turbomachinery.

What does it mean and can anybody help? :/

Greetings
David

Dear David,

at a first glance there seems to be an incompatibility between your boundary conditions and the turbomachinery initial solution.

What you can do to figure out the problem:
1. Do you use the latest version of FINE/Turbo (11.2)? Maybe this incompatibility is already fixed in a recent version.

2. Initial Solution tab: You can try to initialize with "constant values" instead of "for turbomachinery". Does the error persists?
If this fixes your problem I would recommend to perform a 111-computation (Numerical Model Tab: Current grid level 1 1 1) with constant values until full convergence. In a second step you duplicate this computation and switch to Numerical Model -> Current grid level 0 0 0. Please make sure to increase the maximum number of grid level (below) from 2 to 3. Finally, in the Initial Solution tab you set your converged 111 (medium grid size) computation as the initial file for the 000 (finest grid) computation.

3. I assume you use profile data instead of constant values in the "Boundary Conditions" tab. If it is an option for you (even for figuring out the reason for this error) you can try to switch all values with profile data to constant values. Does the error persists when you keep the initialization "for turbomachinery"?

Kind regards,
Holger
