Split block using a surface in Igg

Hello,
I wanted to know if it was possible to split a block using a surface? I know it's possible to split a block with the option "Split Block", but it's not really doing what I want.

What is it exactly that you want? It is not possible to split a block of a structured grid just by any surface. How would you imagine this? It could mean e.g. for a certain i-coordinate that the surface cuts away cells in j and/ or k-direction. That would remove the principles of the structured grid.

Hello colinda,

The thing I want to do is to split a block in two parts in order to say to my solver that one part is rotating, and the other is not. But I need to have a "straight" cut, because that's how it is in prototype.

Do you mean you want to have a rotor/stator interface? In that case, you should create the blocks from the start separately on each side of the interface. There is no way to do it afterward by splitting.

Or is it just a matter of setting a boundary condition of a symmetric rotating wall? In that case, it is possible in the FINE™/Turbo or FINE™/Open GUI in the solid wall boundary conditions page to set the limits of the rotating part.

Yes, kind of. I have a hub, and one part is rotating and the other one is not. But I've been given only the blocking. So I'll need to find another way to do it.
