Default Rotor/Stator Interface in HEXPRESS

Hello - I'm trying to connect the rotor mesh which I created in AutoGrid with the stator mesh in HEXPRESS. However, when I compute the connection, it fails with the message as follow:

"Problem may be due to the topological patch definition.
Check if one patch is not closed on itself. It is not allowed for Rotor/Stator calculation."

Could someone please explain me why it happens? I would also be most grateful if anyone could give me some suggestion to solve this issue.
