Are these fixes in the latest SVN-Version which I recently checked out via

Yes, the latest SVN OpenFOAM-1.4.1_patch version on openfoam-extend is up-to-date, thanks to the rigorous work done by Bernhard Gschaider.

Check here for the list of implemented fixes:

You will notice that the SVN version even have this latest bug fix: http://www.cfd-online.com/OpenFOAM_D.../126/5724.html

Hi!

I've agreed with Alberto that we'll try to coordinate our (until now) redundant efforts.

Please note, that you don't have to do a full svn-checkout to apply the patch from the SVN but you can try the procedure described in http://openfoam-extend.wiki.sourceforge.net/Subversion_Guidelines#GuidelinesForU sers (Subsection: UseCases - User Only wants to patch) to have your installation patched

I clicked on the link "OpenFOA
 
I clicked on the link "OpenFOAM-1.4.1-patches_25_october_2007.tar.gz" thinking that would send me to the server from which I could download the file with the cumulative patches. Instead I just got a nonsense text file. What am I missing here?

The nonsense you're seeing IS the tar-file. Try right-clicking on the link and select something like "Save Link as ..."
