Hi All, I just installed Op
 
Hi All,

I just installed OpenFoam-1.3 following the README file instructions and everything seems to be ok. However when i run FoamX i get these messages

Starting NameServer with inet:cftc2:1234 ...
nsd: error while loading shared libraries: libelf.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

how may i solve this?

ok ok ... sorry about that. I just found the lib necessary and installed the package that had it http://www.cfd-online.com/OpenFOAM_D...part/happy.gif it seems to work ok

for the understanding of somebody how has never used Linux?
With package should I install? from where? how? Can I do it if I am not administrator (root)?
I am using Linux CentOS.

Hello Marta

You just need to install the package that provides libelf library to your linux distribution.

In the case of CentOS, the package should be a RPM one, probably available from the repositories.

This should work (if libelf is the correct name):
su -c 'yum install libelf'
