applications/test

Some of the tests in $WM_PROJECT_DIR/applications/test do not compile. They include the following:

CompactListList
DimensionedField
FixedList (compiles with 1.6, but not 1.5-dev)
LduMatrix (doesn't exist with 1.6)
ODETest
readCHEMKINIII (compiles with 1.6, but not 1.5-dev)
slicedFieldTest
volField

Why worry about this? They aren't unit tests.
AFAIK they are used test out concepts, behaviour, etc. They probably aren't needed much later, but are useful to keep about for testing out new features.

Now fixed in OpenFOAM-1.6.x.

@henry: thank you.

@oleson: why distribute something that doesn't work? My approach would be to fix it, as Henry did, or to scrub it from the distro.

Hello Eric,

They both compile now with 1.5-dev. Just update your local svn working copy.

I am not sure the test application readCHEMKINIII runs properly (not an expert here), but at least it compiles.

You are exactly right Eric. I don't think we have enough of those tests apps; so we should at least take care of the ones we have.

Best regards,

Martin
