Particles deflected by surface defined as stick

Dear all,

I'd like to add an incident to this thread as it seems to be a similar problem. The cases concerned introduce parcels into a thermal plume. This flow "hits" a bend surface. Different aerodynamic diameters have been used, i.e. 1e-4, 1e-5 and 1e-6.
I used paraview to animate the flow of the parcels and it seems that they are deflected from the wall, see (10 and 50 MB file size; red particles are active = flowing, blue are stick)

and

This surface is definitely set to stick,
Code:

            {
                type        stick;
            }

and for some particle diameters it works, for some it does not (see attached screenhots). CheckMesh seems fine with the tets, log file attached as well

Does anybody of you have an idea what is (not) going on there? Is a certain mesh resolution necessary depending on a parcel size? Could this be a scheme or solution problem (both attached)?

OpenFOAM version is 2.2.x-5cc33a231685. Solver used is fireFoam version 70b3e6a20900683fba46801c31725a9197954ecb.

Thanks in advance for any kind of help.

Cheers,

Michael

hello, my test simulation also shows that the partiles will stick to the all and will flow along the wall for a long distance. beside, the gravity doesn't act on the particles. is there any suggestion to solve the problems?

Yust an idea: did you make shure that your maxInteractionDistance is larger than your max. particle diameter?

Yes, I think so, now the gravity act on the particles.
