Is it just me (i.e. my customizations) or did one of the recent commits (I suspect 16e22e94a9df524af03f4f75c097ff3a19abc821) break the tutorials/compressible/rhoCentralFoam/biconic25-55Run35 tutorial case? blockMesh fails with

Code:
--> FOAM FATAL ERROR:
wedge wedge1 plane aligns with a coordinate plane.
    The wedge plane should make a small angle (~2.5deg) with the coordinate plane
    and the the pair of wedge planes should be symmetric about the coordinate plane.
    Normal of face 0 is (0 0 -1) , implied coordinate plane direction is (0 0 -1)

    From function wedgePolyPatch::initTransforms()
    in file /Users/mwild/Projects/OpenFOAM/src/OpenFOAM/meshes/polyMesh/polyPatches/constraint/wedge/wedgePolyPatch.C at line 85.

Did you run the steps from the ../Allrun script? It modifies the polyMesh/points 'by hand' to create a proper wedge case. I see no problems with the resulting mesh.

But blockMesh is run before that. It is blockMesh that is failing.

Remove the polyMesh/boundary file and re-run blockMesh.

I've updated in 1.7.x the maxWellU bc so it now restart properly. I've changed the 0/U file correspondingly. The refValue and valueFraction entries now have a '(non)uniform' tag like the value entry.

Thanks for reporting,

Mattijs

Wrong thread?

Anyways, a bogus boundary file has bitten me in the "where it hurts" so many times, I should have figured it out... Sorry for the noise.

Call it pre-emptive posting ;-) You'd have noticed running biconic under valgrind.

Hi guys,

I read the README file of the tutorial biconic25_55 of the solver rhoCentralFoam :" - The time 0 solution is a fairly well-converged solution to this simulation".

Is it the mesh from grid256.dat is the final mesh (i.e. not coarse mesh) for a converged solution of this case ?
