oceanFoam is on a distinguished road
Hey everyone,

I got waves2Foam running now and am looking forward to all the great options of this toolbox. However, I thought it might be helpful for others just to share a few basic problems and solutions.

First of all reading the part in the manual about version compatability helps to figure out that the toolbox only works with some older solvers and not the most recent version OpenFoam 5.0
I eventually went for OpenFOAM 1712. If you need help in installing and using different OpenFoam versions on one computer this thread explains it very well:

Also of course all Thirdparty software (git, GSL etc.) should be installed

Aparently errors in the compiling of OCEANWAVE like "...*.mod. No such file found" do not matter.

Last but not least the tutorial cases are meant to be run in the directory where they are found originally. If copied them to the $FOAM_RUN some of the files wont be found leading to stuff like: "prepareCase.sh not executable. Make executable."

Now that I am good and running I am sure new questions will come up soon enough, so you will hear from me shortly.

Cheers,
Simon
