making prepareCase.sh executable within the bin folder erased all files within?

Hi guys

I need your help with waves2Foam. I'm new in all these stuff about cfd and linux so made a mistake. After i installed OpenFoam,ParaFoam and waves2Foam i tried to run that tutorials. All went good, i run some easy tutorials with simpleFoam and interFoam and then i moved to waves2foam. after many hours of trying and failing, i manage to run manually (not ./Allrun ) waveFoam solver.when i moved to 3Dwaves tutorials everything went wrong. i tried Allrun command and got the message "make prepareCase.sh executable" (of course i don't know what this mean) but i notice that there was no such file in my bin folder. i searched my computer and find one on another subfolder of waves2foam so i made a copy in my bin folder. then i clicked run in terminal.after a sec everything in my bin folder was deleted (also my trash folder kept empty ) Since then nothing is working.i couldn't run any of the openfoam solvers or open parafoam to review my already solved cases. Plz help!!!!!

Any ideas? My next thought is to delete all folders and make a fresh start.
i just need 5-6 hours to compile everything again. :(

Good evening,

@Nikos: It is probably only your waves2Foam that is broken, so simply re-install waves2Foam. It should not take more than 10 minutes.

Kind regards,

Niels

Good morning Nikos,

I have checked the compilation script (waves2Foam/Allwmake), and it should make the prepareCase.sh file executable per automatic, unless you have some specific permission problems.

Good luck,

Niels
