Interpreting console output during meshing
Hello everyone
cfMesh is quite fast. But still, large meshes (>20M) still take more time than i'm willing to stare on the screen. This is especially noticable when trying to mesh a complex geometry and the meshing fails over and over. If I could know during the meshing process that its not going well and will result in a bad mesh, i don't have to wait till the end. Unfortunately I couldn't find any information regarding the console output of cfMesh and maybe some opinions from experience. Important thins to know would be something like:
Informations like this would be nice to see in the user guide: http://cfmesh.com/wp-content/uploads...VS8R8D5NTStPFF Any information is appreciated and of value for all cfMesh users. Regards, nope |
From my experience, if you have FOAM serious error, or a big number of inverted faces (>10.000) you will have a very bad mesh.
If the number of inverted faces is not going to zero but is not very big, you can work with that. You can stop the meshing proccess after the edgeExtraction step to inspect the mesh and see if it is going well or if it has serious defects. With that you can skip smoothing procedure and save some time. |
